If you know us, you know there's a place we like to go once a year. It's called Halcyon, it's tucked away in the mountains of BC, just a few hours passed our home town. It's a peaceful place to go with our friends or our families. This year we went with our Dad's, Ruth's Mom, and our grandparents. It was a special time in a beautiful place.
It's definitely a place of rest. It's a bit of a journey to get there, but we find that it's worth it. We drive through the blowing snow..
...Apparently with a smirk on our face. We take a ferry over a lake. This year blowing water off the lake froze us shut inside our car.
We did some cooking and eating...
We caught up on a good book..or in Grandpa's case the Good book.
I of course prefer to make as much use out if the free robes as possible. And the main attraction of Halcyon are the Hot Springs! This is Ruth in her flowery swimming bonnet.
It was a special time that is growing more special by the minute as I type this sitting next to my Dad. He probably only has a couple more days of life with us. This week the family all came home to say our goodbyes and keep watch over him in his final hours. I'm sitting here in the dark typing as I listen to the comforting sounds of his snoring.
For the first time I'm typing a blog that he won't read. If you're a friend of Ed's, please pray for our family this weekend.
This new to all of us, and very difficult.

So sorry you are going through these heart-wrenching days. I know you've always made such a great effort to spend time with your dad and have had so many years of his life to enjoy with him and to have his personality rub off on you. I hope you feel the love and prayers and the peace that only comes from the Father.

Ed. you have been a big part of my life as i grew up and this definately makes me sad but i know that there is no possible way to forget such a guy like you. you have always been able to teach me something new each and everytime we met up and hung out. you gave me a tiny book years and years ago. (i talk as if im old (21) haha) the book was called under his wings. and u are sitting on the wing of your airplane, and the story is about your crash that you had survived and the struggles you endured and what it was like. and the guy who saved your life. i love that book and some how since the day u gave it to me back in 1995 ish... i know i was real young but i cant remember how young, it is still in great shape cuz i thought id surprise you one day with it....
Mrs. Lepp, Royden, Ruth and the rest of the Nelsons and the Lepps, and every one else who is very close to Ed my prayers are with you and u guys are blessed to have such a great guy

I am looking forward to seeing Ed's smiling face when we are all in heaven with him.
It was an amazing experience being there last Saturday, Uncle Ed is already missed. He will always be remembered for his loving heart, positive attitude and faith in Jesus. Uncle Ed's courage to trust in Jesus is inspiration to us all. Thanks for sharing of your time with Uncle Ed. We're still praying for all of you, we love to you. What a joy it will be to see him in Heaven!
